Matthew 27:62-28:20

v. 63 – “Sir, we
remember that that deceiver said…..after three days
I will rise again”
Very High Blasphemy – calling Christ “that deceiver) –
He who made the worlds –
“that deceiver” –
deceived – deception – Satan is really a liar (John 8:44)
and a deceiver (Revelation 20:7-15)
God is a God of truth
– He is “abundant in truth” – Exodus 34:6
Leading up to the
anti-christ – II Tim. 3:13 – “deceiving and being
deceived” – II Thessalonians 2:7-12 “whose coming is after the
working of Satan with all power and signs and
lying wonders, and
with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in
them that PERISH”
Technology and the “Media’s”
use of lying today in a deceptively
subliminal and not so subliminal way?
“the
last ERROR shall be worse than the first”
ERROR and PERISH are terms deeply intertwined and related!

Perish has to do with
destroy/destruction/lost – Vine’s Expository Dictionary
Error – a wandering –
a forsaking of the right path whether in doctrine or
morals – error in doctrine is related to relaxed morality and a relaxed
morality
is related to error in doctrine.
Jesus died and arose
from the grave so that none should “perish” –
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only
begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in Him SHOULD NOT PERISH, but have
EVERLASTING LIFE” - John 3:16 - II Peter 3:9 “not
willing that any
should perish but that
ALL should come to repentance”
- “Why will
ye die, O house of
2 John 1:7 – “For
many deceivers are entered into the world, who
confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the
flesh. This is a
deceiver
and an anti-christ”

The Greatest Error
ever made is to DIE UNSAVED! TO LOSE YOUR

Matthew 28:2 – “there
was a great earthquake”
Joyce Rogers called
Tues. night about the one in
the paper Thursday night that 275 people had
died in the worst
quake in

The Bible says that
in the last days there will be “earthquakes in

Matthew 28:18-20 – Jesus said “All power

them to observe ALL THINGS whatsoever I
have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even to the
end of the world”

After the
resurrection, Jesus abode on the earth for 40 days and then
ascended back into heaven – in Acts 1:11, angels
said “Ye men of
which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so
come in like manner
as ye have seen Him go into heaven”
Daniel 7:13-14 – “I
saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the
Son of man came with
the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient
of Days, and they brought Him near before
Him. And there was given
Him dominion, and
glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and
languages, should serve Him: His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
which shall not pass away, and His kingdom that
which shall not be
destroyed” – (compare earlier reference to the word
perish”
Isaiah 9:6-7 – “the
government shall be upon His shoulder:
and His
name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The
mighty God, The
everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His
government and peace there shall be no end, upon the
throne of
David, and upon his
kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with
judgment and with justice from henceforth even for
ever. THE
ZEAL OF THE LORD OF
HOSTS WILL PERFORM THIS”
Revelation 1:7 –
“Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye
shall see Him, and they also which pierced
Him: and all kindreds
of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen”
Revelation 22:20 –
The Bible ends with Christ testifying “SURELY
I COME QUICKLY” – May
our prayer be “EVEN SO, COME,
LORD JESUS”
DO NOT LET THE WORST
ERROR OF YOUR LIFE BE TO DENY
THAT JESUS CHRIST, AS
GOD, CAME IN THE FLESH, TO SAVE
YOU AND ME!
Life is a hard
teacher – it gives
you a test and then teaches you a lesson!
“The harvest is
past. The summer is ended and we are not
saved” –
Jeremiah 8:20 – Compare
missing the boat – Matthew 8:11-12
We live in a cold,
hard, skeptical and lost world – when Paul preached
to Herod Agrippa in Acts 26:8 he asked “Why
should it be thought a
thing incredible with you, that God should raise
the dead?”
Why would the people
in v. 64 think that the resurrection of Jesus
Christ was an error? Why do people living
in the 21st Century
not believe????
In verse 27 Paul
asked Herod “believest thou the prophets? I know
that thou believest!”
- Herod’s response in v.28 was “Almost
thou
persuadest me
to be a Christian”
The time when the
home, the school, the church, the community, the nation,
and the Holy Spirit agreed is rapidly coming
to an end – the young of today
have no frame of reference to the above song
sung as an invitation in a revival
that lasted two weeks or longer – or the
tradition in our church on many a
bright Easter morn – “Christ Arose” shown below:
